Following my complaint to the Press Complaints Commision about the dubious vaccination 'articles' in the Guardian recently (see my post 09-01-10), I have received the reply I feared:
Dear Mr Watson
Thank you for your email
The Press Complaints Commission does not deal with complaints about advertisements published in newspapers or magazines. These are covered by the British Code of Advertising Practice, which is overseen by the Advertising Standards Authority at Mid City Place, 71 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6QT. I am forwarding your letter to the Authority which may be able to help you.
Further information about the PCC can be found on our website www.pcc.org.uk .
Yours sincerely
Simon Yip
I wait, without baited breath, for the Advertising Standards Authority to give their reply.
